BWS Works Warranty Policy

Warranty Policy

Effective / Last Updated: 1 September 2026

IMPORTANT: Keep your original unboxing video. An unboxing video is required for warranty claims under BWS Works’ standard warranty process.

1. BWS Works warranty

Products carrying a BWS Works warranty are tested and prepared before dispatch. The applicable warranty period is stated on the product page, order record and/or warranty documentation supplied with the product. Warranty coverage is subject to the product-specific terms below and applicable law.

2. Reclaimed Mini PC warranty — 6 months

Reclaimed Mini PCs carry a standard BWS Works warranty of 6 months from the applicable purchase date, unless the individual product page or warranty documentation states otherwise. Standard coverage includes the motherboard, processor, RAM, SSD and Wi-Fi hardware where Wi-Fi is available as part of the system.

3. Standalone product warranty periods

Unless a product page states otherwise: Reclaimed Processor — 1 year; New RAM — 2 years; New SSD — manufacturer-provided warranty; Reclaimed RAM — 1 month; Reclaimed SSD — 1 month. The warranty period shown for a particular product at purchase will govern that product.

4. DIY kit warranty

DIY kits do not carry a general warranty. If a DIY kit is defective on arrival, BWS Works may review and resolve the issue under its defective-on-arrival process. A continuous unboxing video is mandatory. Do not assemble, modify or attempt to repair the kit before contacting BWS Works.

5. What the warranty covers

Subject to product-specific coverage, the warranty covers failures of covered hardware occurring during the applicable warranty period when the failure is not caused by an excluded condition. BWS Works may diagnose the product and determine whether repair, replacement, an equivalent solution, or another remedy is appropriate.

6. What the warranty does not normally cover

The warranty does not normally cover physical damage, liquid damage, cracked or broken components, burn or electrical damage caused by external conditions, misuse, accidents, incorrect power supplies, incompatible components, improper installation, unauthorised repair, modification, overclocking, operation outside intended specifications, customer-caused damage, or damage resulting from DIY assembly/handling contrary to instructions. This does not override mandatory legal rights.

7. Permitted Mini PC upgrades

Customers may perform supported RAM and SSD upgrades. In products using a socketed desktop processor, a compatible processor replacement may also be permitted where the product is designed for it. Customers are responsible for compatible parts and careful installation. Damage caused by an upgrade or installation may not be covered.

8. Repair and modification restriction

Customers should not attempt to repair or modify BWS Works hardware beyond the supported upgrades above. If a system develops a fault, contact BWS Works before opening, repairing, soldering, replacing unrelated components, or otherwise modifying it.

9. BWS tamper-evident seals

BWS Works may place a tamper-evident sticker or seal on selected components or access points where BWS Works does not want the customer to access, remove, alter or interfere with that part without authorisation. A broken or removed seal is an indicator for inspection; it is not, by itself, a conclusive determination that every warranty claim is invalid. BWS Works will consider the hardware condition, the nature and cause of the fault, the work performed, and the applicable warranty before deciding a claim.

10. Unboxing video requirement

A continuous, clear unboxing video is required for BWS Works’ standard warranty-claim process. Customers should retain the original recording from delivery and provide it when requested. For transit damage, missing items or suspected arrival defects, the video should show the sealed parcel, opening process, internal packaging and product condition. For later warranty failures, the original unboxing video should still be retained and submitted with the claim.

11. Warranty claim process

Contact BWS Works through the support/contact channel published on the website and provide the order number, product name, Unit ID or other product identification requested by BWS Works, a description of the fault, and the original unboxing video. BWS Works may first perform basic diagnosis. If physical inspection is required, BWS Works will provide return instructions. After inspection, BWS Works will communicate the applicable remedy.

12. Unit ID and configuration records

BWS Works may use internal Unit IDs, serial numbers, order information, configuration records and warranty documentation to verify product identity and configuration and determine warranty eligibility.

13. Data and storage devices

Customers are responsible for maintaining backups before sending a system for warranty service. BWS Works may need to reset, replace, erase, inspect or otherwise work with storage devices during diagnosis or service. Customers should remove or back up personal data before service.

14. Warranty shipping

Where BWS Works accepts a warranty claim and requests the product to be returned for inspection or service, BWS Works will provide applicable return instructions. Shipping responsibility for an accepted claim, excluded issue, or out-of-warranty service will be communicated according to the circumstances and applicable law.

15. Warranty remedies

Depending on the fault and product availability, BWS Works may repair the product, replace a failed component, replace the product with an equivalent product, or provide another remedy available under applicable law and product terms. A warranty does not necessarily mean full product replacement in every case.

16. Cosmetic condition of reclaimed hardware

Reclaimed products have previously been used and may show reasonable signs of prior use, including minor scratches, marks, wear or cosmetic variation. Disclosed cosmetic characteristics are not necessarily warranty defects. Warranty coverage concerns functional failures and other covered conditions.

17. Warranty exclusions and statutory rights

The exclusions above describe BWS Works’ standard warranty coverage. They are not intended to exclude or restrict any consumer right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where applicable law provides a mandatory remedy, that requirement will prevail.
